UFC superstar Holly Holm visits Joint Base San Antonio
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar Holly Holm visited Joint Base San Antonio on April 6 and 7. Holm toured AFIMSC headquarters where she interacted with leadership and Airmen in various meetings. Holm met around 400 Airmen before the big event on Saturday.
On Saturday April 7, Holm joined fight enthusiasts at the JBSA Randolph Kendrick E' Club to watch UFC fight 223. She hosted a meet and greet at before the event, which was free for club members and $10 for nonmembers.
Holm talked with fans, signed autographs and joined in photos. The event, part of the “Club Frenzy” program, drew 211 members and 167 nonmembers. The Club ran specials throughout the evening for food and drink.
The Holy Holm event was a team effort of AFSVA/SVK, AFSVA/SVO, AFIMSC/PA, JBSA-Randolph Clubs, JBSA-Randolph Marketing, and JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs.
Holly Holm is a mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She fought professionally in boxing and kickboxing prior to UFC. In 2015, she earned the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship by knocking out Ronda Rousey. In December, Holm fell against Cris Cyborg in UFC 219. On June 9 in Chicago, Holm will take on Megan Anderson at UFC 225.
